Clubs and Activities
There are a number of clubs and extra curricular activities that children can attend after school and during lunchtimes. See details below.
-
Mrs Church organises two sports club, one for Y1 and Y2 on a Tuesday night and one for Y3, Y4, Y5 and Y6, on a Thursday night. This club is lead by coach. These clubs are usually free to attend as we use some of our Sports Premium money to meet the cost. These clubs are always very popular and the children enjoy the range of sports on offer. The children have enjoyed taking part in multi skills (practising different sporting skills), retro games, gymnastics, football, hockey, badminton and many more.
-
In the summer term, children in Class 3 also organise clubs for the younger children at lunchtimes. These usually run for four weeks. We have had a number of different clubs including craft club, mask making, biscuit decorating, tag rugby and drama club.
-
Mrs Clayton runs a coding club for the children in KS2. Children are able to sign up for four sessions where they learn how to build a creation using Lego and then they learn how to code to make it move or light-up.
-
Mrs Atkinson also leads a cooking club on a Monday night. Throughout the academic year, every child from Reception to Year 6, will be offered a place. They will take part in three or four sessions, learning to prepare and cook a range of dishes (the chocolate tiffin is often the most popular!).
-
Mrs Finey from the Schools' Music Service leads a choir on a Friday lunchtime. The choir perform songs at our different celebrations throughout the year.
- Mrs Waldock from the Schools' Music Service leads keyboards lessons on a Monday morning and Mrs Fountain leads guitar lessons on Monday afternoon.
